Comoros Holidays

Comoros holidays are an excellent way to spend a few days, or weeks in a lush and tropical setting.  This country is located in the Indian Ocean, relatively close to Africa.  The country is actually composed of four main islands and a scattering of smaller islands.  This guarantees that everyone from busy families to couples looking for romance can enjoy one of the Comoros holidays offered.

Visitors to Comoros will notice that there are five main destinations that are popular with tourists.  Mayotte, Moutsamoudou, Moya, Moroni, and Domoni are the five areas popular for Comoros holidays.  Each area has its own sights and sounds that make it popular with tourists.

Mayotte is the top destination for couples looking for romance, and adventure travelers.  The reason for this is because the island does not have many hotels, resorts, or attractions.  Those that visit the area will instead find wilderness camping, or camping in the wild.  This involves camping in wild conditions without any electricity or running water.  Couples taking part in Comoros holidays will love Mayotte for its gorgeous views and romantic restaurants that serve locally caught seafood. Sitting on the beach and watching the sun set is an experience that many will never forget.

Comoros is a destination completely unlike any other in the world.  Here, travelers will notice a lack of lodging choices.  While hotel chains have not yet found their way to the islands, there are a number of resorts and spas.  Le Galawa Beach Hotel & Casino is one of the more popular choices for groups traveling to Comoros.  Other popular resorts include Hotel Al Amal, Hotel Les Arcades, and Hotel Le Moroni.  These hotels include a large number of activities for travelers including water skiing, fine dining, and casinos.

Many Comoros holidays include some of the popular activities and destinations in the area.  These islands are fairly remote, and most of their popular tourist activities involve the outdoors, and wondrous pieces of nature.  Three of the more popular locations are the beaches:  Chindini, Bouni, and Chomoni.  Each of those beaches has a laid back and relaxing atmosphere with a tropical feel.

The Sultan’s Palace is another popular tourist destination in Comoros.  The Palace is located in the former capital city, and was home to a 15th century Sultan.  This historic site is one of the oldest standing buildings in Africa.  Tourists may also enjoy Mount Karthala, a real volcano that visitors can see, or the Dziancoundre Waterfall.

Comoros holidays can be booked in advance by using a travel agent, or planned at the last minute.  The government on the island controls a number of the resorts and hotels, and works diligently to keep up the appearance of the buildings.  Those that live in another country will first need to obtain the proper permits, or visas, as well as a passport.  It may be worthwhile to also visit a doctor’s office for any immunization shots required.  While Comoros is a beautiful destination, it is still part of Africa, and immunizations are almost always required when visiting an African country.
